![]() If you have a PS3 and PC you really don't need a XBox 360. I think I am going to pick PS3 once it hits the 300 price point (and assuming nothing got stripped from the new SKU), but I think most of network games will be done on xbox 360. Two of them have PS3 and they keep coming back online via xbox360. ![]() I have most of my current and ex coworkers on xbox live and most of them don't consider PS3 as a good platform to play games on. So, assuming MS counters with a reasonable price reduction of its own, I don't see this helping Sony much. If you want to add a console it is much more than $300 because you have to buy accessories. MS should respond with a $200 60 Gb model and a $250 120 Gb model but we shall see.Sony's biggest problem is that the XBOX 360 has a bigger existing audience so for a lot of people the PS3 is irrelevant from a gaming standpoint (sure, a few nice exclusive games for the PS3 but there are nice exclusives for the XBOX 360 as well so there is no major benefit to owning a PS3 other than if you want bluray - which is too expensive to matter for many people). $200 or $150 is much more mainstream of course, but $300 looks decent (I also am suspect it is painful for Sony because they are probably losing money at $300). ![]() Quote:Originally posted by PseudonymAnon:quote:Originally posted by Steve Sheldon:$300 is a price that starts to enter mainstream.
